Terms of Service

Effective: July 11, 2026

Who we are

WhereToHQ (“WhereToHQ,” “we,” “us”) is a service operated by Name, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company doing business as WhereToHQ. By using wheretohq.com or any of our services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

WhereToHQ compares US cities on cost-of-living and business site-selection data, and offers optional paid features (below), a written brief, and a developer API. Figures are compiled from public datasets and are estimates for relative comparison, described further under “Data and no professional advice.”

Accounts

Some features require an account, created through a one-time sign-in link sent to your email. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract to use paid features.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service: no scraping or bulk extraction outside the documented API and its rate limits, no attempts to break authentication, billing, or another user's data, no reselling the raw data as your own, and nothing unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.

Pro subscription and brief pass

Pro is a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, Stripe. It renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. The brief pass is a one-time purchase that provides the access window shown before checkout. The access clock starts when payment completes. A purchase keeps its recorded expiry if the public offer later changes. All sales are final except where required by law. Ask us to review an eligible billing or access problem within 7 days of payment. Using the Brief agent or exporting a brief does not shorten that review window. Details appear in the policy linked below.

Brief passes purchased before July 11, 2026 keep the seven-day full-refund promise shown at purchase, including after use. The current all-sales-final policy applies only to purchases completed on or after July 11, 2026.

Prices may change; we will give notice before a change affects a renewal. Refunds and cancellation are described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Developer API

API keys are issued to Pro accounts, are tied to your account, and are subject to rate and usage limits. Keep your keys secret; you are responsible for requests made with them. Output served through the API and connector may be used with attribution to WhereToHQ (wheretohq.com).

Data and no professional advice

City figures are estimates compiled from public sources (including US Census/ACS, BLS, EIA, FEMA, NOAA, and the Tax Foundation) and from our own derived indices and market signals. They are provided for general comparison and are not financial, tax, legal, real-estate, or relocation advice. Verify current figures with primary sources before making decisions. The AI-written brief narrates the figures we supply and may still contain errors; review it before relying on or sharing it.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and compiled and derived data, belongs to Name, LLC and its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Service under these Terms. Briefs and exports you generate may be used for your work subject to these Terms, the source notes and attribution shown with the output, and any applicable third-party source terms. This license does not grant a right to resell or redistribute source datasets or raw data in bulk.

Third-party services and links

The Service uses third parties (for example Stripe for payments and email delivery for sign-in links) and links to outside sites such as listing portals. We are not responsible for third-party services or the content of sites we link to, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the data is accurate or complete or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Name, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, additional notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Colorado will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved.
